Moss & Marbles

A handful of marbles. Plenty to think about.

Moss & Marbles concept artwork
Original concept artwork. This page describes a design in development; it is not an active game screen.

The central idea

A move would slide one marble to the next open pocket. The challenge would come from the order in which spaces are opened, with an undo option for experimenting.

A small game works best when its first choice makes sense without a long explanation. This concept begins with a single interaction and a visible consequence. Additional rules would only belong if they make that interaction more interesting.

What needs to feel right

The tray must remain readable on a small screen. Shapes and markings would distinguish pieces as well as their colours, so the puzzle would not depend on colour alone.

Before an idea becomes playable, it needs comfortable pointer and keyboard controls, a useful pause state and a clear result. The artwork on this page establishes the mood, while those interaction questions remain part of development.

What you can do today

Lane & Roll offers a similarly deliberate adjustment loop: change one setting and see what happens.
